This one has had a number of upgrades to improve the overall driving experience from that of a stock wagon. Included in these upgrades is a stout 350 cid chevrolet v8 engine that was rebuilt by jasper engine & transmission about 8-10,000 miles ago. This engine has an extremely long life ahead of it. It is mated to a smooth shifting 400 automatic transmission which has also been rebuilt at the same time as the engine. The paint has been redone in a maroon/white combo and the interior was finished in maroon/brown vinyl. The cabin is kept cool with a fully functioning air conditioning system for those hot summer days. S am/fm radio for a more entertaining experience. The owner's son, also a fire fighter, later moved to california and brought the car with him. The front brakes have been upgraded to discs. This vehicle has a powder-coated frame, new springs, shocks and body mounts and new two-stage, red and yellow paint. Overall straight sheetmetal on this dry southwestern body and it includes a metal-and-wood roof rack with wooden inlays. There are two chrome jerry fuel cans, one on each front fender and they are lockable. Atop the roof rides a metal-and-wood rack. Wagon rides on p235/75r15 coker radial tires with whitewalls wrapped around aftermarket 15-inch yellow steel wheels. Inside, the car still has its original interior except for new green textured vinyl upholstery. The seat and window frames have been powder-coated yellow to match the exterior. The cargo floor has refinished oak runners. It comes with a heater and classic frigiking air-conditioning but the a/c needs a couple of under hood parts - drive belts, a hose - and another hose need to be connected. The windshield wipers don't work, however, all gauges work as designed and it has the original motorola am radio. Other interior features are sliding window glass, original steering wheel, fold-down tailgate and yellow window trim. The willys jeep station wagon is the first mass-market all-steel station wagon designed and built as a passenger vehicle. It was produced in the united states from 1946 to 1965. With over 300,000 wagons and its variants built in the u. S., it was one of willys' most successful post-world war ii models. Its production coincided with consumers moving to the suburbs. The 6-226 "super hurricane" was a l-head 6-cylinder from continental with a bore of 3 5⁄16 inches and stroke of 4 3⁄8 inches, giving a displacement of 226. 2 cu in. Horsepower rating is 105 hp at 3600 rpm or 115 hp at 3650 rpm, as well as a torque rating of 190 lb·ft at 1400 rpm or at 1800 rpm, depending on the year of production. Current mileage on the odometer shows 35,116 miles. It is sold as is and on a clear and clean california title. Air Conditioning
